2016
DECEMBER Wedding Collection - Gregg & Laura - 22nd December 2016

At the wedding of Gregg Anderson and Laura Beardsmore there was a sweepstake on How Long the speeches would last. This raised a brilliant £486.55 with the winner very kingly donating his winnings to NCSF.

Very many thanks to all that took part many of which I am sure had never heard of NCSF before!

The wedding was held at The King's Hall and Winter Garden, Ilkely, West Yorkshire

JANUARY - DECEMBER
Ricky Nelmes - Superman?

Our very own Superman! Ricky Nelmes decided that this year he would set himself a humongous challenge to raise money for charity and decided on not one but two extremely difficult tasks:

The Cotswold Way Challenge

South West Tough Mudder x 4 laps

Ricky chose to raise money for NCSF and Parkinsons UK. The first of these two torturous treks was the Cotswold Way Challenge in June, which is a multi marathon event to run 102 miles in just 4 days!

Ricky did extremely well and completed the event in a great time. Ricky reported on facebook afterwards, “2 hrs ago I finished the best and toughest thing of my life, raised an incredible amount of money along the way, to top it all off 102 miles and smashed my way into 8th place”.

What an amazing achievement, running all that way in all kinds of weather conditions is absolutely astounding!

As if this wasn't’t enough, Ricky took part in the South West Tough Mudder event which took place near Cheltenham on 20-21 August 2016.

This is an extremely tricky obstacle course just over 10 miles long! Ricky, who has completed a number of these events over the past couple of years, decided to massively stretch himself and take part in 4 laps, 2 consecutive laps each day!

Ricky was joined by friends and family both taking part in the event and cheering him on. Despite enduring a knee injury Ricky kept on going through pure determination and grit.

What a huge accomplishment, we are all extremely proud of you and can’t thank you enough for choosing us as one of your charities to raise money for in this truly brave way! WELL DONE RICKY!

Ricky raised a mighty £3377.50 (£1688.75 for each charity), which will go a really long way in helping families coping with cancer and Parkinson’s. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH RICKY!

OCTOBER

OCTOBER
Bake off at the Dinneywicks Inn, Kingswood - 22nd October

Charlotte Purnell organised a fabulous evening at The Dinneywicks Inn on Saturday 22nd October, Kingswood’s very own Bake off! Contestants were asked to enter their best bakes in 3 different categories:

Any cake
Any Pie
Any Cheesecake

Fun was had by all that attended and there were lots of delicious things to eat! They raised an outstanding £115 which will go a long way to helping families coping with cancer.

THANK YOU TO CHARLOTTE AND EVERYONE WHO JOINED IN!

SEPTEMBER
Kingswood Village Show - 3rd September 2016

On Saturday Kingswood village held their annual show. Thanks to the Kelly sisters and Soils HS Limited we had a novel event of guessing the number of balloons in the car. This raised £64 for NCSF which, on a very wet day, was a great achievement.

APRIL
10 Year Anniversary Ball - Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel  - 23rd April 2016

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have raised £13,000 at our 10th Anniversary Ball on Saturday 23rd April!

This will go a long way to helping more families with much needed support.

Many thanks to East Bristol Auctions Ltd, Footlights Performance Academy Ltd. Basket & Banter , Darren Sims and James Maloney for making this a truly memorable night!!

We were especially proud of Nicola's son Alfie (age 13) for making a speech in front of 250 people!

Thank you to everyone that attended, donated and to those that gave us those fantastic raffle and auction prizes!

NCSF relies on fundraising events such as those listed above without which we would have been able to help many families that could not find help elsewhere.

NHS, Macmillan, Maggie's Cancer Care have all referred families to us and we have been able to help them in a very difficult time of their lives.

So if you can help with any of the above events or suggest a new one please use the
contact page to let us know or click the
Donation button on the right.
