Craft Stalls - all year round

These were held all the year round and made a healthy contribution to our funds.

Thanks to all who made crafts and who helped on the day.

FITCHALLENGE 1: A Bridge Too Far? - Saturday 2nd April

Our first 'FIT Challenge' was a huge success on Saturday 2nd April with 30 keen cyclists (many in fancy dress!) pedaling quite possibly 'a bridge too far'.

The 50 mile round trip from Portishead open air swimming pool to Chepstow Castle and back, proved to be a fantastic fundraiser - our total raised is still rising whilst sponsorship comes in, but we are certainly aiming to make the whopping £3k mark!!

A great day was had by all - the sun shone down on us even though the wind blew against us on the way back!

Our speedy winning team were the 'Lord of the Chainrings' followed very closely behind by 'The Flying Facilitators'! Our 'Rewind Racers' really embraced the treasure hunt element of the challenge and won the prize for most answered questions! Well done too to Kevin and Sue for the best fancy dress!

Thank you to all participants and all who supported the event. Massive thanks must go to Hazel Fulker for thinking up and organising the event .... we look forward to the next one Hazel! Thanks too to Paul Pearce and Louise Somers for their help in the planning. And finally, as always our fabulous NCSF Committee Members did us proud with their homemade cakes and refreshments - thank you to Mary Pearce and team - you certainly provided a welcome break at Chepstow!!

We do hope that the 'FIT Challenge' theme will become at least an annual event for NCSF so please keep watching this space for future events!!! Julie Haydon NCSF Trustee!

Annual General Meeting

NCSF's AGM was held on Tuesday 6th September 2011 with a good attendance. Members heard that the Charity had a successful year giving in excess of £14,000 in grants to families. However it was becoming more and more difficult to obtain resources both in terms of funds and volunteer help. This may lead to restrictions on the scope of grants that will be available in the current year.
