Fundraising - 2014
NOVEMBER Henleaze Christmas Craft Fayre - 29th November 2014

This year's Christmas Craft Fayre was held in the Bradbury Hall of Henleaze United Reform Church, Bristol. It was a great success the best so far!

Carole Hunter, the Chief organiser of the event - " Just wanted to say a huge 'thank you' for all your efforts and help at the Christmas Fare - it was a great success and for those who do not already know we made almost £1200 which will be doubled by a donation from Shona's colleague, so I think we can all pat ourselves on the back!

Would just like to make special mention to Sara (for making us loads of marmalade to sell); Georgina and Liz for their enthusiasm, inspiration for fab craft ideas and help with providing items to sell; Jenny for her very generous help and support; Margaret for her lovely knitted items and proving that being in your eighties can be fun; and Wendy Gillard, Wendy Gunter and Mary for all their hard work in not only providing yummy food and really interesting and well made children's items to sell but also providing support to make sure the Fare was a success.

We worked hard this year but I think it was worth it and I would like feedback on whether we should go ahead and book for next year - please let me know what you think.

Many thanks once again and well done everyone"

MAY Cotswold Way Walking Challenge - 105 miles – 1 - 5 May

Cherie Franklin has raised an amazing £1843 for NCSF. Cherie chose NCSF as we helped her friend. In her own words:

"The idea started when a dear friend of mine needed support and help from the Nicola Corry Support Foundation during a tough time for her and her family. Giving something back seemed to be the best thing to do. Raise awareness and money at the same time.

On 1st of May I set off from Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds on the start of my 105 mile challenge.

Walking poles in hand and supplies in my backpack, I headed up the high street slightly anxious about the long days ahead. My OS map became my bible and good footwear, my saviour.

The Cotswolds are very hilly and spectacular. With views across Gloucestershire and Bath including Cleeve Hill,, Birdlip, Coopers Hill (the cheese rolling one) Stinchcombe and Landsdown. Each day ended with stretches, ice bath, cold cider and a quick leg massage.

Good Job I'm a sports therapist. Highlights included a fried egg roll in roadside diner near the Air Balloon Inn, a pick pocketing horse in Winchcombe and woodland treasures such as blue bells and cowslip.

What an amazing 5 day adventure"

NCSF relies on fundraising events such as those listed above without which we would have been able to help many families that could not find help elsewhere.

NHS, Macmillan, Maggie's Cancer Care have all referred families to us and we have been able to help them in a very difficult time of their lives.

So if you can help with any of the above events or suggest a new one please use the contact page to let us know or click the Donation button on the right.
